RWCA is pleased to share the positive impact of the support received through the Hays Travel Foundation to deliver wellbeing and community activities for refugee and migrant families in North London.
Through this project, we organised family cultural trips, exercise sessions, and outdoor wellbeing activities for young people aged 12–18 and their families. The activities aimed to strengthen family relationships, improve physical and emotional wellbeing, and create safe social spaces for young people within our community.
One of the highlights of the project was a family trip to Oxford attended by 18 adults and 21 children. For many participants, this was their first opportunity to visit Oxford and explore its cultural and historical environment together.
The project also provided free exercise sessions, with 48 young people participating in 15 wellbeing activities designed to encourage relaxation, confidence, physical activity, and social connection.
Beyond the activities themselves, the project helped bring young people and families together, creating stronger community connections and positive social opportunities for those who may otherwise experience isolation.
We are grateful to the Hays Travel Foundation for supporting this initiative and helping us continue creating meaningful opportunities for refugee and migrant families within our community.
