RWCA is pleased to announce that we have received important funding for Voice for All, a project aimed at increasing awareness of voting rights, democratic participation, and civic engagement within Kurdish and Turkish communities across London.
Many people within our communities face barriers to participation, including language challenges, limited awareness of the importance of voting, and, at times, feelings of not fully belonging within wider society. Recent changes to the UK electoral system have also highlighted the growing need for accessible, reliable, and easy-to-understand information.
In response to these needs, RWCA will work with a team of bilingual experts with experience in human rights and democratic participation. Through this project, workshops will be delivered on democratic processes, voter registration, and civic engagement, with language support and translation services available to ensure information is accessible to everyone.
Alongside these activities, our digital awareness campaign will use social media, local media platforms, and community networks to reach wider audiences and encourage informed participation.
Voice for All aims to strengthen democratic literacy, increase awareness of recent electoral changes, and provide communities with the information and confidence needed to participate fully in democratic processes, including understanding developments such as the introduction of photo voter identification requirements.
Throughout the project, RWCA will remain fully impartial and committed to promoting democratic participation without supporting any political party or ideology.
Through this initiative, we aim to strengthen belonging, encourage active civic participation, and empower Kurdish and Turkish communities across London to feel more informed, engaged, and connected.
We will continue to keep our community informed as we move forward with this important initiative and work towards building a more inclusive and participatory society.
